I am now fed up with the persistently cold and wet days of the last month. How I long for a bright sunny day to chase away these winter blues.

Winter blues?

The swans
This is a photograph I took exactly 3 years ago.
A few weeks earlier, an out of control dog had attacked and sadly killed the cob from this family.
The family were slowly beginning to gain trust in people again and they would now come up to the edge of the pond, but were still very wary of any sudden movements.

Web developer
I am searching for a job at the moment and couldn???t help that caption : – )
I usually do not like spiders but I have to admire their great engineering skills in creating their webs.
This particular spider has set up camp outside my house and its web creation reminds me of this Ferris wheel I posted a couple of days ago.

Fish
On a visit to the London Aquarium last month, I took this photograph of a fish.At first the fish kept moving around. I finally figured out where I was going wrong. I had politely asked the fish to “stand still”. Of course fish don’t stand, do they?
When I asked, politely of course, for it to “swin still”, it kindly obliged.

The lady in red
This is my way of saying sorry for being away for so long.??I am going to do better going forwards.
I have missed being here to share my world with you.
My rose bud is slowly changing into a lovely rose. This and the lovely warm weather outside have put a smile on my face.
I hope it does the same for you.

Slowly melting
So it turns out that the weatherman was not wrong about the snow.
I took this picture of some snow on one of the bushes outside starting to melt.
I may post some other pictures I have taken later.
Enjoy the day.

Home…
I took this picture in Florida a few years ago.
Sadly I never did get to find out who lived down this hole. I really wanted to tell the little creature that its home was rather nice.
Perhaps one day he will visit this site and find out that I meant no harm when I called out to him ; -)

The ladybirds
I came across these ladybirds enjoying the autumn sun on a wooden post. I watched for a while as they practiced stretching out their wings and then tucking them in again. It reminded me of automated convertible cars lowering and raising their roofs.
They were all still there an hour or so later when I was heading back – the little posers!

Hello world
Welcome to my humble offering to the great world wide web. I hope that every now and then, I will be able to put a smile on your face with the photos I post here. I hope you will come again.
My name is Lande and I am in London, UK. Today is an overcast day and looking out the window, it looks rather dull and gloomy.
At the end of June this year, I was on a beach in Dorset, Poole on a lovely summer day. Sitting there, I took this photo. I can remember the sound of the waves further down the beach, the warmth of the sunshine on the day and sound as the wind blew through the grass.
